Author Biography
Dr. Linda M. Vero is an experienced writer specializing in health and nutrition communications. She has published nutritional research and currently writes nutrition articles for medical newsletters. She holds a doctorate degree in clinical nutrition, is a registered dietitian, an exercise physiologist and certified diabetes educator. Presently, she treats and manages children and adults with diabetes mellitus.
Her inspiration for creating the Coby character came from her husband, her two little boys, the many children she treated in her medical, nutrition practice and of course her golden retriever dogs. Having extensive writing experience in the medical and nutrition field, Dr. Vero expanded her writing to include children’s stories. She started Quantum Infinity Books, an English-language publishing and book distribution company, in December, 2012. She launched her first children’s book titled, “Coby Our Furry Friend” in the Spring of 2013. Her second book, Coby Our Furry Friend Goes Boating was recently released
Her long term vision for Quantum Infinity Books is to provide a high quality line of children’s books in a variety of topics and a series line involving the Coby character. All of her children’s books encourage independent reading through the use of site words, rhyme and rhythm to increase phonemic awareness coupled with a valuable story line and colorful, captivating illustrations.
She enjoys speaking engagements, conducting nutrition and health presentations, reading to children and caring for all kinds of pets.
“My goal for writing the Coby series was not only to encourage kids to read and to develop a life-long love of reading but also to teach children (whether they have a pet or not) the valuable lessons and messages animals teach us every day. They can show us how to be better people“. — L. Vero
